A screening-discussion around the testimonials from judicialized women was organized by Testimonial Cultures in collaboration with the Coalition d’action et de surveillance sur l’incarcération des femmes au Québec (CASIFQ) on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the UQAM.
The projection of video testimonials featured judicialized women who spoke about their various realities and denounced the human rights violations they suffered.
The purpose of this event was to sensitize participants to the issues of imprisonment of women, to take a critical look at this reality and to stimulate conversations in a safe place.
Survey
A survey was conducted with people who participated in the activity to find out their feelings following the screening of the four testimonials. These were very much appreciated and allowed the participants to express themselves and think about the actions that could be taken.
